Mermaid Angelina Film Fins

Things you will need to get started:

First step:

Sculpt your mermaid the way you want and leave her tail unfinished. Something like this:

Of course you can add her head and arms at this point:) I usually bake my mermee full sculpted and leave her tail unfinished.

You can also add the fin to unbacked mermaid; just do it the way it's easier to you.

Second step:

take the wire and the pliers and cut some different lenghts of wire off.

Take the longest two and bend them together, to get something like this.

You can have more fins for her tail...

Take the desired angelina film and cut off two pieces; place the first one under the wire and glue it

at the bended point to the film.

Take the other pieces of wire and place them as you want; it's prettier if you bend them a little.

When you are finished with glueing the wires and bending them, place the other piece of the film on top.

Angelina film sticks to itself when ironed; preheat your iron to the degree for silk. Place your fin between a cotton towel and iron it.

Be careful, you might get some air bubbles inside; start ironing from one side to the other in order to avoid that.

When the fin is ironed, take the scissors and cut off the redundant film; do not go too close to the wire, leave about 1/8 of an inch free.

Now take your soldering gun and make the desired shape, like this:

Now your fin is ready to be put in your mermaid's tail:)

Third step:

If you have backed your mermaid, just make a tiny hole in her tail to insert the wire sticking from the fin.

If your mermaid isn't backed yet, this part will probably be easier.

When you have inserted the fin, put some TLC on the tail in order to clay sticking better on.

Now all you have to do is to sculpt the rest of the fin; start at the tail and go over the fin a little -

keep it up until you hide the glued part of the fin at least.

You can leva it like that or you can cover the enitre fin with TLC. Now add beads, glitter, ...

Hope this helped you a bit?

Have a great time making yours!
