"The raise of a mermiad"

 

In the deep dark waters of the Indian see there's a whisper in everyone's ear;
A mermaid they say, is comming today,
to look at the sun light for the very first day.

 

 

 

She has just turned eighteen
and now she can't wait to be seen
at the reefs of the Maldives.

 

She has been well prepared in the past 18 years
to face the beauty and danger of the shallow seas,
but her guardian won't leave her side
until she's sure her little mermaid will be allright.

 

She swimms with her to the nearest coast,
where the corals await curiously for her to appear
to give her a cheer
and a tour of their reef.

 

 

She's happy but scared
to face the new world she heard so much about,
hope she meets new firends
to stay at her side,
when she needs a helping hand.

 

 

Everybody's happy to meet
the new girl from the deep,
this day is a holiday,
do not fall asleep!

 

Afya is about 7 iches tall without her stand.

In Arabian language Afya means Shadows and Aneesa means someone close or a good friend.
